Opinion:
Wow. That's pretty much all i thought about this book once it was down. It jammed so much history and mysticism into its 387 pages. I learned about the fever during 1918. I'm a huge American and world history buff but i haven't heard anything about a fever during that time. The pictures included at the beginning of each new part of the story helped move it along. It was the perfect horror mystery. I never would have guessed who  the blackbirds were, at least the non-predictable one. The book gave off a harsh reality, which I believed was able to correctly represent the horrors of that time. A good read, maybe not at night though.

My Opinion:
This book was confusing. I really didnt understand the different types of magical creatures or even the world the story takes place in. I needed more background information or at least a better explanation. Besides that and semi-slowness in the beginning, I enjoyed the book. The characters were interesting to say the least. Vespa seemed like a very revolutionary type of girl. I liked the part where they divulged her true history. Things did seem sketchy about her heritage and her mother. Now Praetor Lumpin's whole personality seemed sketchy. Something about him made me think he was keeping a secret from the rest of us. Lastly, Syrus was just plain annoying to me. I cannot say this book was a favorite or that I will definitely read the second book (The Tinker King), but I liked it enough to do a semi-positive review on it though..

P.s. The cover of the book is fabulous. It gives off such a steampunk vibe. I would wear that outfit to a costume party.

My Opinion:
I read this book a couple of days ago, so these are my thoughts once I had analyzed the book.

This book was cute at best. I liked how it ended the series and everything worked out nice in the end. Not much of a review here, but Emma and Galen's relationship gets put to the test. Plus the revolt that was brewing was pretty interesting. I think the Syrena government needs a little re-arranging.The Archives and Elders don't seem to be working. Emma's mom, Niala, and Grom's  have been reunited, but I feel their story why this whole misunderstanding happened many years before was pretty stetchy. I also wanted them to do more in the story instead of being mushy gushy. They seemed to take a back-seat to the whole story, though it was mostly due to their past decisions. Then this rescue mission was okay at bet, I felt that it could have gone better.I liked it, but it wasnt anything amazing.I feel like the author Anna Banks could have done so much better with this book, but it feel flat.  It may or may not have also meet up to the standards of the first. Read it if you have read the first, but Im not sure how I feel at the moment of completely recommending them both.

Opinion:
This book was confusing and interesting to say the least. It was confusing a little bit with the storyline. I understood the gist of it, but everything else went over my head. It was interesting well since the story is about fairies. I didn't really understand Rue as well. She was a mystery character to me, though technically Rue is the protagonist. This book was not a fav. I most likely am not going to continue reading the rest of the series, but if you do read them I want spoilers in the comments please.

Opinion:
I  loved this book. The Shadow Society was so full of syfy, mystery, love, and tears.  It was hugely original and one of a kind.  The characters,, or at least the best friends were mildly refreshing as well. Darcy was cool too, but she had one flaw and that was Conn. Darcy suffered from typical predictable love interest syndrome. Sadly, there was no antidote. I liked the Shades most of all. The whole mystery surrounding them is interesting. Marie Rutkoski created this whole world parallel to ours and I loved it. She did a great job of crafting it. Only thing is I wished I understood the different type of energy she had that world using a little bit better. A must read. I definitely wasn't bored with this one. I would read it again.

My Opinion:
This book. OMG! The series is over. It just killed me, never saw this happening. Get ready for Spoilers ahead. I have to talk with people about this.






Words I've spoken to a friend about the book. She compared the book to what James Patterson did with the last Maximum Ride book (the James Patterson). This is my response.

• "It was awesome. I didnt see the James Patterson resemblance besides the Leo thing, but that was a cool sweet ending. And Nico needed to get it in with Will. "
• "It wasnt as bad as I thought it would be. Like James Patterson's ending had me mad, this one had me satisfied with like he had a few loose ends. And now Ricky is doing Asgard. Bruh I'm not ready for Loki bae"

Now on to our regularly scheduled programming. I really liked this book. Most of the plot loose ends from other books were resolved. Some things like Leo being thought as dead needs to be resolved though. Ricky needs to do a short story to let the gang meet back up together again. I would love that.

These Percy Jackson books have been life to me. I look forward to each October when a new part of the series is unlocked. Now that story of my life is over. I cant wait though when  Rick Riordan does a new series on a new part of mythology (I hope Norse: Loki is fav or even Native American and Spanish). Only time will tell.

My Opinion:
This book was just on 100. So much happened in its little 435 pages. I couldn't possibly keep up. There were lots of suprises in its pages. The characters were okay, but Alina and Mal got on my nerves. They were so stubborn and crazy. Now this book isnt on my top ten, twenty, or even thirty. It wasn't bad, but I felt that it could have been so much more. I do recommend reading it, but it is not a must read.  I will continue to read the series though; I need to know what happens.

Summary:
Wise words before you read this book. Don't have any predictions about the book, because it revels in the unexpected. I never would have thought most of the events would have happened before i first started reading it. Orleans is a really good book. I liked all the characters, especially Fen. Every single one had great character development and back-stories. I didn't want to change a thing, well maybe some parts in the ending and some stupid things Daniel did. Sometimes I wanted to knock some sense into Daniel. He certainly needed it. Orleans is a great book, a must read. I only wish this was a series.

Opinion:
Omg magnifique. I legit could not but this book down. It has me hooked. Bryn was very interesting; I thought she was a strong independent female character (i love those types of characters), until Duncan was introduced into the story. Then Bryn got a little annoying. She knew Duncan was bad news. Even though I know this happens in real life, i still wish it wouldn't happen in books. I liked mystery boy. He seemed fun and cute. The story was great; i just wish the shadow mystery was resolved. I kinda feel like they are from another planet. That would be cool. Lastly, this is the first time i have ever heard of Klein-Levin Syndrome. So that made the book even more interesting. The Girl In Between isn't a must read, but it is a worth-while one. Continue on with the series once you are done as well.

Opinion:
OMG! This book was amazing. Before I read the book, I saw the movie and I cried. I rarely cry during a movie, but The Book Thief stole my heart. The same for the book though i didnt cry this time. I loved the characters; all of them. They were all so beauitfully written and portrayed; they seemed like real people. Leslie, Max, and Rudy were my favorites though. I felt their angst and struggle. Rudy was too cute with his kiss requests. I was waiting for the day she finally gave in and gave Rudy what he deserved. Rosa and Han were beautiful people and foster parents; Im glad Leslie went to then and that they made her into the fabulous book thief that she was. Isla Hermann, the mayor's wife, was an important character as well. And Max's book was beautiful. It was perfect. I pretty much have soo many words that I want to say about how i loved this book, but none will come out. The first and last page of the book hooked me to it forever. And then how the narrator was Death. WOW!! I think that is the one simple word that describes the book. Get it and read it. A MUST READ AND A MUST HAVE. It is [insert every possible positive word her]!!!!!

 A Lesson Before Dying, is set in a small Cajun community in the late 1940s.  Jefferson, a young black man, is an unwitting party to a liquor store shoot out in which three men are killed; the only survivor, he is convicted of murder and sentenced to death.  Grant Wiggins, who left his hometown for the university, has returned to the plantation school to teach.  As he struggles with his decision whether to stay or escape to another state, his aunt and Jefferson's godmother persuade him to visit Jefferson in his cell and impart his learning and his pride to Jefferson before his death.  In the end, the two men forge a bond as they both come to understand the simple heroism of resisting—and defying—the expected.

Ernest J. Gaines brings to this novel the same rich sense of place, the same deep understanding of the human psyche, and the same compassion for a people and their struggle that have unformed his previous, highly praised works of fiction.

 My Opinion:
This book was interesting. Jefferson's death was inevitable, so pretty much the only conflict in the book was Jefferson's thinking and Grant's thinking. Now let me tell you I really dislike Grant. His pessimistic, almost depressed, egoistical attitude got on my nerves. He didn't seem to truly care about other human beings beside himself, not even Vivian. His perspective on things was also very narrow-minded and closed-minded. I really wonder how Tante Lou was able to put up with him for so many years. My big question is how old Grant is? It was never explained; I suspect more than 20. Grant didn't deserve Vivian and she could do so much better. Grant never even told us more about Vivian's children. What were their names and ages? All these questions that wont be answered.Now about the Reverend Ambrose, i like that he wanted to save Jefferson's soul, but his approach was atrocious. He seemed so fake. Most of the men in this book didn't understand tact and other simple things about interacting with others. Miss Emma, Vivian, and Tante Lou needed more chapters diverted to them and their strong wills. They seemed like fabulous people and Strong Independent Black Women, although Tante Lou and Miss Emma's view on mulattoes was uncalled for in my opinion. If you took out all the complexities of the characters or just the characters in general, the symbolism in this book was beautiful. I can relate to some of the issues in 2014. The Mulatto vs. African American is now light skinned vs. dark-skinned. The vicious cycle for black men is still jail or death. The thing between church and atheism will always be around. Ernest J. Gaines went in deep for this book; he made me think. I cant say i thoroughly enjoyed the book, but I can say i didn't hate it like some of the other school books I have been forced to read.

*When i say mulatto, i am only using the term from the book. In regular everyday language, i would say mixed and it wouldn't be in a negative manner.*

p.s. My class is watching the movie and it is way different from the book, but a lot of the actors are well-known and famous. It also seems like i have seen it before.

 My Opinion:

 Lol! Let me tell you know. Read this series back to back or else nothing will make sense. I accidentally waited, and just got the second book. I was highly confused for most of the book especially when it kept saying WI instead of Written In or even who some of the characters were.  Big mistake. Besides that what i gathered and understood the book was actually okay. It wasn't highly amazing or the best thing since pre-sliced bread, but Story's End is cute. A little predictable at times, but still cute. A nice way to pass the time.

P.s. This is technically a kids book maybe for ages 9-12. No romance or heavy situations at all.

My Opinion
I loved this series and this book was the icing on the cake. The Lengua Clasica is probably based on Spanish. I loved it!!! The book had soo much going on. I thought it was going to end soo many times, but alas there were more chapters. I didnt mind though; I got to see Elisa at work. She is a fabulous character. I loved her character development throughout the whole series. I saw her growth and she is fabulous. Only 17 and Elisa was ruling the world. Wow! And the Invierno wow. I want to know more about these people. Sadly, though i believe she wont do a continuation series. Oh well! I will still love this book series!

P.S. Does anyone know of/could recommend any free Nook teen/young adult/kid books I can get? I've read most of them, so i only have my rejects left. What is a girl to do? ;-( Tell me in the comments please.

Opinion:

WOW! These WondLa books wont ever stop surprising me. Nothing is predictable and nothing seems to follow the strict rules of book characters and well i like that. The book starts right where The Search for WondLa ends. So it makes a lot of sense to read all three books back to back. This series is defiently original and attention-grabing. I cant wait to read the next book. Eva Nine keeps surprising me and Im starting to like Hailey. I ship it ! ;^)  No words can describe this book in my opinion without giving away the ending, but some chapters I can tell you leave you with a giddy smile on your face. Plus the lessons and themes given are timeless.

Nikki’s life is far from perfect, but at least she has Dee. Her friends tell her that Dee is no good, but Nikki can’t imagine herself without him. He’s hot, he’s dangerous, he has her initials tattooed over his heart, and she loves him more than anything. There’s nothing Nikki wouldn’t do for Dee. Absolutely nothing.

So when Dee pulls Nikki into a crime—a crime that ends in murder—Nikki tells herself that it’s all for true love. Nothing can break them apart. Not the police. Not the arrest that lands Nikki in jail. Not even the investigators who want her to testify against him.

But what if Dee had motives that Nikki knew nothing about? Nikki’s love for Dee is supposed to be unconditional…but even true love has a limit. And Nikki just might have reached hers.

*My Opinion*
This book was interesting. Up to maybe page 190, Nikki was just an annoying character. She didn't listen to anyone but Dee. She loved to wallow in self-pity. And Nikki didn't understand how good she had it. But when Nikki finally woke up from her Dee-filled splendor, she was a fierce independent woman. I loved the In-jail Nikki more than the Before-Jail Nikki. She was someone I could love or look up to. That was when the book got good and juicy. It isn't a must-read, but I can say I'm glad to have read it...just for the in-jail part. Plus Priscilla was my favorite character; she didn't take no mess. Bird was cool too.
